Beginners Yoga Series

In this 4-week series with Tobie you will learn the basics of starting a yoga practice. It is perfect for a complete beginner who has just discovered their interest in yoga or for those who would like a refresher on the fundamentals. We will focus on breath awareness, body awareness, yoga posture, alignment and basic anatomy. We will touch upon yoga philosophy, the energetic body and meditation. Yoga props will be used to enhance the understanding of the body and to create ease and space.

This series is open and accessible to all backgrounds and experiences.

Saturdays 8:30-9:30am
1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1

Tobie has been teaching in the New Haven yoga community for the last 13 years. Her classes are informative and challenging but always offer modifications to students so they can find their own space and depth. Tobie believes that yoga is a practice that creates freedom and space in the body, awareness of the self and is a tool to connect to others through compassion and love.
