Rest & Digest
June 16th, 2018 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

What's your gut got to say? The gut is often called the "second brain" of the body. How we digest tells us a lot about our overall health and wellbeing. Chronic stress and fatigue can overtax the nervous system and affect our ability to absorb nourishment and eliminate waste.

This workshop taps into the intuitive wisdom of our digestive system. We will explore yoga postures, breathing techniques, mudras and meditations that ease common ailments, such as constipation, indigestion, IBS and more. Learn how to use yoga to soothe and strengthen your digestive fire. We'll end with a yummy restorative and guided meditation practice to rejuvenate and reset your nervous system. Leave with a full heart and happy belly!

Julia Zhao is a RYT 500, yoga therapist in training, and certified yoga nidra guide. Her teachings are influenced by a unique blend of Hatha and Tantra Yoga, Buddhist Vipassana meditation, Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism), and studies of Ayurveda and the Chakra system. All of these traditions remind us that we are innately whole, peaceful, and compassionate beings. Julia's practices emphasize breath, conscious movement, and meditations that help us reconnect to the source of who we truly are.
