Tai Chi (5-Week Series)
November 5th, 2019 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join Minyan Zhu for an exploration into the world of Tai Chi as he teaches in the lineage of the 48 movements of the Yang style short form. Growing up in China and practicing from a young age, he was always drawn to the smooth meditative movements of Tai Chi. As he continued on his journey of movement study, biomechanics, Feldenkrais, yoga, energy work, visual arts and music, he’s seen and felt the integrative power of Tai Chi to improve mindfulness, balance, and radically soften the edges of stress on a day to day basis.

Tai Chi consists of slow, circular, flowing movements that echo the movements of nature within our own bodies. Part martial arts, part dance, part meditation, part energy work, Tai Chi is the movement form that aligns us to the natural ebb and flows of our own human nature. Throughout the 5 week course, we will explore and learn the first third of the Yang Style short form. Once you have these movements learned, you will have them for a lifetime as a tool to tune into the subtle nature of energy flow your body and as a tool to improve balance, strength, mindfulness and stress reduction.

Full attendance of this 5-week series is strongly recommended as each class builds upon movements learned in the previous class.
