January 2022

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a lovely holiday and you’re now moving into this new cycle around the sun with Peace, Assurance, Gratitude, and Love.

As we move into this New Year and season, the mantra that keeps coming to me is “becoming anew.” For many of us, 2021 brought myriad new ways of being in this world: New awareness, routines, and challenges. I recognize my resistance to much of that newness, holding onto the past and the way things once were. Gratefully, over the last few months, there has been an unfurling of these attachments, a loosening of my grip and surrendering to what now is. This act of surrender has created me anew, and “I see myself anew” is the mantra that returns over and over to my mind and to my heart; it helps me when I feel the urge to re-grip. I see this body as a vessel for the soul that continues to evolve and wisen. I see this heart expanding in new ways I never conceived. It all feels anew and yet as ancient as time within the same breath cycle.

I also recognize it feels like we are moving into another challenging winter especially with Omicron surging in our state and country. I am choosing to keep my head up, see myself as stronger and anew with knowledge, wisdom, and tools to help me get through this, to help us get through this together.

Some ways we’re doing this at BR are by continuing to have a breadth of excellent classes available virtually. We just updated our recording and audio hardware and are excited to deliver you better video and sound quality! Very soon, we will also be launching our On-Demand video platform so you can access our awesome classes and teachers whenever you want!

Lastly, there is new research that cloth masks are not adequately protecting us against this new variant, and wearing a KN95 mask is a simple way to better protect ourselves and each other. I have purchased KN95 masks and request that all students and teachers in-studio wear them while we are practicing together. Your first mask is free and we will charge $2 per mask after that. It is not financially sustainable for us to provide them gratis every time, so we suggest purchasing KN95s on your own and we look forward to seeing you in-studio soon!

Stay safe, stay warm, stay new my loves,

Peace,

Margot
