Grounded 4 Growth is a Connecticut-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing mindfulness-based programming to communities that have historically lacked access to health and wellness activities.
At Grounded 4 Growth, we passionately believe that groups such as youth, fixed-income seniors, and individuals recovering from chronic mental health issues and addiction deserve access to these transformative practices. Mindfulness-based programming cultivates the mind-body connection, fostering awareness, concentration, and self-healing abilities. By embracing bodily sensations, breath, thoughts, and emotions without judgment, individuals can tap into their inner wisdom and navigate life's challenges with balance and stability.
Operating on a blend of donations, fee-for-service partnerships, and grant funding, Grounded 4 Growth is committed to making its programs accessible to all who can benefit from them. By addressing the specific needs of these underserved populations during transformative life stages, communities can foster inclusivity, promote awareness of self and become the catalyst for change and holistic well-being.
Grounded 4 Growth is partnering with Breathing Room Yoga Center to provide mindfulness practices, including yoga and meditation, offering a holistic approach to wellness to address physical and mental health needs.

In our healthy aging class tailored for aging bodies, we offer a gentle and accessible approach to yoga, focusing on promoting mobility, flexibility, and relaxation. Here's what you can expect:
Gentle Movements: Our class emphasizes gentle movements and stretches designed to accommodate the needs of aging bodies. Each pose is adapted to be performed comfortably while seated on a chair or using the chair for support.
Improved Mobility: Through a series of carefully curated chair yoga poses, participants can improve their range of motion, enhancing mobility in joints and muscles. These movements are specifically selected to address common areas of stiffness and tension.
Enhanced Flexibility: Chair yoga helps to increase flexibility gradually, allowing participants to stretch and lengthen muscles without strain. Flexibility is essential for maintaining overall mobility and preventing injury, especially as we age.
Mindful Breathing: Our class incorporates mindful breathing exercises to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Deep breathing techniques help participants to calm the mind, improve focus, and cultivate a sense of inner peace.
Safe and Supportive Environment: We provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can practice yoga at their own pace. Our experienced instructors offer modifications and encouragement to ensure everyone feels comfortable and empowered throughout the class.
Join us to experience the rejuvenating benefits of Chair Yoga, tailored specifically for aging bodies. All Instructors are Silver Age® Certified- based on geriatric science.

Create the change you need with the SMART Recovery 4-point program.
Build motivation and maintain commitment. Motivation prompts change, but commitment is how to maintain that along your recovery journey.
Cope with urges and cravings. Urges and cravings are a normal part of recovery. We’ll help you find ways to manage them and support you even if you relapse.
Manage thoughts, feelings, and behavior. We can help you to recognize and challenge the thoughts and beliefs that get in the way of change, by developing more balanced ways of viewing yourself and the world.
Live a balanced life. Once you are managing or have stopped a behavior, you might feel a sense of emptiness. We’ll support you to set achievable goals so you can enjoy a meaningful and enjoyable life.
