Cynthia

Cynthia Jones is a Thai massage therapist and yoga teacher based out of New Haven, CT. She completed her massage training at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga in 2018, and began working in Knoxville, TN that summer. While she tried both working in a spa setting and having an independent private practice, Cynthia found her home within the massage therapist community at Glowing Body, a yoga and massage studio that specializes in Thai massage. There she began learning Thai massage from Kelly Scott, one of the studio owners, and immediately connected with the modality.

After two years of offering both the table massage she had learned in school and the Thai massage she was learning from Kelly, Cynthia realized that her clients received much better results with Thai massage and she started offering it exclusively. She continued learning from Kelly Scott, and also had the opportunity to train with world-renowned teachers David Roma and Krishnatakis. Arianna Coe, an advanced Thai therapy teacher from the Somaveda Thai Yoga Center, became a close friend and mentor, offering additional insight and encouragement.

In addition to her training in Thai massage, Cynthia also completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program through the Glowing Body. She began offering self-massage and slow flow yoga classes, as well as workshops in restorative and yin yoga where she provided Thai massage assists.

Cynthia continues to grow her practice, not only in offering individual appointments and group classes, but in teaching Thai massage to others. Cynthia seeks creative ways to make Thai massage more accessible for more people, and also offers partner Thai massage classes, teaching couples, friends, and family members how to use Thai massage techniques on each other in the home. In 2023 Cynthia was invited to teach Thai massage to massage therapy students at the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC, where she is a staff teacher. She is developing her own CE course, available in Spring 2024.
