Twists are poses that slow us down, making us move with great care and intelligence. They stretch the muscles of the sides of the body and can be very useful for “changing gears” after both backbends and forward bends, allowing the long muscles of the trunk to be released. Twists also effect the abdominal organs in powerful and healthy ways.
In these two sessions we will explore standing, sitting and lying twists, discovering what they have in common, how they differ, and what benefits they create. We will also discuss how to place twisting poses in the sequence of a class.
Judith will lead a live practice in each session.
