Modules & Schedule

  • The Gitā is called a ‘nectar’ because it concentrates the most supreme teachings of the vedic tradition in one scripture, and it transmits those teachings in the most unusual context – on a battlefield. The Gitā is practical mysticism meant for those of us who seek spiritual maturation in the midst of the complexities and conflicts of worldly life. We will study the Gita within the context of our very own world and lives, and how it's ancient wisdom can take us from suffering to deep understanding and acceptance.

  • For the Yogi, healing starts in the subtle body - the pranamaya kosha provides the wisdom base upon which the entire therapeutic approach to yoga is based. We will study the various cardinal Hatha Yoga texts that give us clues into the access points of the subtle body including Pranayama, Bandhas, Mudras etc.) and study how to teach and practice these ancient techniques to make them accessible for the modern world.

  • This module will focus on the vibration of sound or nāda yoga and its healing effects on the body/mind. We will learn the key mantras of the vedic and tantric traditions to apply in our daily life, and their correct pronunciation and intonation.

  • Teaching meditation is an intuitive art that requires deep embodiment and presence. We will be learning how to tap into the inner resource of the Essence of Self to awaken the inner teacher/guide. Our sessions will also review certain key meditative practices that will be appropriate to teaching beginners, mixed level groups, and underserved populations.

  • Yogic Mythology is a playground of stories and fables that are meant to inspire the practitioner to deepen in awareness. We will hear the stories of key asanas as we practice them to embody creativity and deep respect for the lineage of yoga.

  • The tools of yoga can be divided into two energetic principles: Brahmana: expansion & Langhana: reduction. We can create brahmana or langhana effects with choices of asana and sequence, pace and repetition, breath adaptations, chanting and mantra. We will learn the ways in which we can design a practice suited to meet someone where they are at in regards to their unique expression of anxiety and/or depression and help support them in finding balance within their bodyminds.

  • This training will provide yoga teachers with the skills and knowledge they need to bring an informed approach to yoga for students experiencing pain.

This practice is based on a Biopsychosocialspirtual modality. In other words, it addresses the whole being: mind, body, energy, spirit.

  • Cultivating the healing relationship is a practice of cultivating compassion and learning to hold space. A Key component is keeping up with our own practice so we can remain open and grounded. This workshop includes space for group work and self-reflection.

  • Grief often mimics many symptoms of anxiety and depression. We will review these symptoms and clarify the differences between them. Grief is otherwise a normal process that has been dismissed by our society for far too long. We can change that.

Yoga can address the physical, mental and spiritual symptoms of grief. A Yoga practice that caters to the griever meets the grieving body where it is at. It can support one in integrating the intense task of mourning so that one can move towards self re-identification following an important loss.

  • Understanding Trauma and becoming a trauma-informed yoga facilitator.

A model of the neurobiology of trauma, we touch into invisible trauma and not knowing the lived experience of who is in the room, plus several tips and practical skills for being trauma-aware and sharing practice from that place

  • How we can be playful about form and formlessness that is based in sensation and curiosity through embodied presence.

  • Let's cover the basics of what it means to move through the world as a 300hr yoga teacher. We'll discuss best practices for marketing, branding and business development so that you can ensure you're able to carve out the career you're looking for. Topics will include relationship-building, social media, creating a following, understanding your why's and finding a soulful balance between business and mind, body and soul.
